CSA

Earthen Harvest is pleased to announce our first year as a CSA! We will be offering shares, at this time, only to Monmouth and Ocean County residents. If you have any questions or would like to receive a brochure in the mail, please e-mail or call us. Thank you for your interest in our farm! Our CSA shares for the 2009 season are SOLD OUT.

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is based on a partnership between a farmer and the community in which they cultivate their crops. This partnership allows the farmer to provide the families within their own communities local, freshly harvested herbs, produce and flowers.

Share Sizes

We will be offering two share sizes to choose from. A full share will supply a family of 4-6 people while a mini share supplies a family of 1-3 people with the freshest crops of the season. Depending on your diet and eating style you may find that our produce supplements your vegetable buying. Please remember that what you are receiving is LOCAL, JUST PICKED, and SEASONAL. What this means is that here in New Jersey there is a seasonality to produce. For instance strawberries have a short season and are only available for a few weeks while other vegetable are in season in the spring and then again in the fall, such as lettuces. We will provide each family with the appropriate size basket depending on the selected share size.

 Membership Basics

The CSA season for 2009 will begin the week of  May 10 and end the week of November 15. Our CSA shares are delivered to your home once a week. Delivery days will be announced. We will not be requesting that our shareholders donate any of their time for labor.

A Full Share feeds 4-6 people at a cost of $675.00 which works out to be $24.11 per week.

*NOTE*  We cannot predict the weather that may cause crop loss or failure but strive to provide each shareholder with many baskets of our harvest.
